Piekarski and Associates Consulting was recently awarded the IT contract for the First Choice Urgent Care Centers in Central Florida. With the majority of our clients contracting with us for our web design and Internet marketing services, it is easy to overlook the IT department and our Managed Services (MSP) division. About First Choice Urgent Care
First Choice Urgent Care has been operating in Central Florida since 2008. Owned and operated by Dr. David M. Harbour, D. O. and Dr. Eric Mason, the centers provide their patients with high quality emergency treatment and medicine for non-life threatening injuries or illnesses. Their services include state of the art diagnostics and treatment to assist any patient with their medical needs. Plus they pride themselves in providing efficient, family-friendly, higher acuity urgent care services for both their adult and pediatric patients.
They currently operate two physical locations:

Privately owned by an emergency medicine physician, First Choice Urgent Care is not part of a hospital group, and their motivation is to actually help keep patients out of the hospital when appropriate. Their staff are all emergency medicine trained and have experience in treating both adult and pediatric patients. They additionally offer in-house lab services and radiology studies at both of their locations.
BPAAC Services Provided
First Choice was experiencing numerous IT issues that we quickly identified and resolved. These issues included potential security breaches, including possible HIPAA compliance. We were able to identify the possible vulnerabilities on their network and address them in a reasonable and cost efficient manner. Additionally, network diagnosis revealed the necessity of replacing the routers at both of their locations, which we quickly accomplished. The other issue that they faced involved communication and accessibility to their new X-ray machines. The addition of new static IP addresses easily took care of the issue and fixed the problem.
